 Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham |
Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham is the Louis A. Beecherl, Jr. I Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cyber Security Research Center (CSRC) at The University of Texas at Dallas. She is an elected Fellow of IEEE, the AAAS, the British Computer Society, the SPDS (Society for Design and Process Science) and the Society of Information Reuse and Integration (subcommittee of IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society). The recipient of numerous awards, she has over 30 years experience in industry, MITRE, NSF and Academia. Her work has resulted in 100+ journal articles, 200+ conference papers, three US patents and 12 books. Under her leadership, CSRC has generated $16 million in research and education funding from AFOSR, NSF, IARPA, NGA, NASA, ONR, NIH, Raytheon, Tektronix and others. |
 Dr. Latifur Khan |
Dr. Latifur Khan is currently an Associate Professor in the Computer Science department at The University of Texas at Dallas where he has been teaching and conducting research since September 2000. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in August of 2000, and December of 1996 respectively. Dr. Khan's research areas cover data mining, multimedia information management, semantic web and database systems with the primary focus on first three research disciplines. His research work is supported by grants from NASA, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), National Science Foundation (NSF), IARPA, the Nokia Research Center, Raytheon, CISCO, and Tektronix. He has published over 160 papers in 40 journals, in peer reviewed conference proceedings, and three books. He also collaborates actively with researchers from MIT, UIUC, UMBC, UMN, Purdue and IBM TJ Watson Research Center. He has chaired several conferences and serves (or has served) on multiple editorial boards including IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE). |
 Dr. Kamil Sarac |
Dr. Kamil Sarac is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is also serving as the director of the cyber security and information assurance education program at the university. His research interests include computer networks and protocols, network security, network and service monitoring and Internet measurements, overlay networks and their use in network security. He obtained his PhD degree in computer science at the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2002. |
 Dr. Rayford Vaughn |
Dr. Vaughn received his Ph.D. from Kansas State University in 1988. He is one of twelve William L. Giles Distinguished Professors at Mississippi State University where he conducts research in the areas of Software Engineering and Information Security. Prior to joining the University, he completed a twenty-six year career in the US Army retiring as a Colonel in 1995 and three years as a Vice President of DISA Integration Services, EDS Government Systems. Dr. Vaughn has over 100 publications to his credit, has obtained more than $30M in funded research projects, and is an active contributor to software engineering and information security conferences and journals. In 2004, Dr. Vaughn was named a Mississippi State University Eminent Scholar and in 2008 he was named Mississippi State University's most outstanding faculty member. He is the founder of the MSU Center for Critical Infrastructure Protection and the Center for Computer Security Research. In 2009 he was designated the Department Head for Computer Science and Engineering and in 2010 became the Associate Vice President for Research at MSU. |
 Dr. Victor Piotrowski |
Dr. Victor Piotrowski is a Lead Program Director of the Division of Undergraduate Education at National Science Foundation. At NSF, he is responsible for the Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service (SFS), and the Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) programs. Before joining NSF, he served as a Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He previously held faculty positions at the North Dakota State University and at the Institute of Informatics in Poland. Dr. Piotrowski has a 10-year experience in research, teaching and consulting in Information Assurance (IA) and holds several IA certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional and SANS Institute GIAC Incident Handler. |
 Mr. Zoltan Szabo |
Mr. Zoltan Szabo is a faculty member of the School of Engineering, Business & Technology division at Richland College. He is also the director of Digital Forensics and Information Assurance programs at Richland College. He has developed the courses and the degree plan to aim toward an applied research model in 2-year colleges that is a unique model at that level. He has built a state-of-the-art lab environment and led the program to be the first in The State of Texas to receive the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance 2-Year Education ( CAE2Y ) designation. He received his Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science from UTD and his Master's Degree in Computer Science (MSCS) from University of Tulsa. |
Dr. Glenn Dietrich |
Dr. Glenn Dietrich received his PhD from The University of Texas at Austin. He started the information assurance program in the College of Business developing an undergraduate degree in IA as well as a concentration at the master’s level. He has also been responsible for developing minors in information assurance, technology management, digital forensics and data center and network management. The curriculum now includes 20 classes related to cyber security. He has published in some of the leading information systems and technology management journals. Dr. Dietrich is on the Editorial Board of Security Informatics, Springer Publishing. He is an active contributor and track chair for leading academic conferences. He founded and was the first Director of the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS). Dr. Dietrich’s research interests include intrusion detection and security on the smart grid. Prior to joining UTSA, he worked in industry building information systems for the government and industry. |
 Dr. Bob Johnson |
Dr. Bob Johnson is an ADB Consulting Vice President and is currently the technical lead of a University of Texas at Dallas research project to develop methods for extracting information of interest across free text documents for fusion center and law enforcement applications. He has led and participated in the development and operations of four information sharing systems at the federal level and one fusion center at the regional level. He was the architect of the North Central Texas Fusion System for 8 years, building on over 12 years experience in information sharing systems spanning multi-discipline and multi-level security architectures. As Chief Scientist of Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems, he was responsible for working with intelligence agencies and vendors to identify and develop solutions to security, remote sensing, and intelligence needs including cyber network visualizations, multi-level secure information systems, and steganography analysis. |
 Dr. Frederick Sheldon |
Dr. Sheldon is a Sr. Scientist at ORNL currently focusing on cyberspace and information intelligence research. With 25+ years of experience in the fields of software engineering and computer science, he has held faculty appointments with research universities including R&D positions at three fortune 100 companies. He led several significant efforts in Formal Methods for Integrated Diagnostics (WPAFB) and the YF-22 VMS Kernel (USAF). He was a visiting scholar at NASA (Langley and Ames/Stanford) and published 80+ papers and edited five books/proceedings concerned with developing and validating models, applications, methods and tools for the creation of safe, secure and dependable systems. Sheldon is co-inventor on several pending patents, IEEE Sr. Member, Sigma Xi outstanding dissertation. Recently, he received a key contributor and significant event award from UT-Battelle for excellence in technology transfer at ONRL. Sheldon received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington. |
 Mr. Kimbry McClure |
Kimbry McClure is a Senior Manager for Strategic Business at Raytheon. He has over 25 years of software development, systems engineering and program management positions in addition to international business development and strategic planning. In the middle of his tenure in the defense aerospace business he worked as a product manager for Tandem Computers, Compaq/HP Computers and then Dell. Additionally, he ran a startup consultant business which focused on guiding dozens of start-up companies through fund raising, product launches and technology development. He also served as Director of Product Management for a network management software company in Austin, Texas until returning to Raytheon in 2004. Kim works in the Intelligence and Information Systems Business Unit of Raytheon. His primary day-to-day activities are New Business Capture, Strategic Partnership Development, Technical Investment Support and Intellectual Property Steering Committee for customers ranging from the Department of Homeland Security to the Defense Intelligence Community. |
Mr. Michael Morris |
SA Michael S. Morris has been employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for over twenty three years. He has over nineteen years experience in computer intrusions and sixteen years experience in computer forensics. During the last eleven years, SA Morris has been the Laboratory Director for the North Texas Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (NTRCFL). As the Laboratory Director, SA Morris has oversight of fifteen computer forensic examiners from local and federal law enforcement agencies. SA Morris has been the case agent on several large multinational computer intrusion and copyright investigations. Due to his knowledge of computer intrusions and computer forensics, he has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, numerous local newspapers and he has appeared in an Arts and Entertainment documentary on Cyber Terrorism, as well as the Learning channel's documentary "Hidden Secrets of the FBI." SA Morris has received commendations from the Director of the FBI for advancing the fields of computer intrusion investigations and computer forensics and is a CISSP. |

Mr. Eric Albertine is the Enterprise Services Technical Lead for Smart Data at the National Security Agency. He has been a leader in the development of various Information Assurance technologies, including Cryptographic Binding, metadata tagging, and XML validation. He works with NIST to develop Federal standards and best practices for the application of biometric data storage and transport. |
