ABOUT THE CYBERSECURITY RESEARCH CENTER
(CSRC)
Directed by Dr.
Bhavani Thuraisingham, the Cyber Security Research Center (CSRC) is
part of UTD’s CyberSecurity and Emergency Preparedness Institute
and has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in
Information Assurance Education by both the National Security Agency and
the Department of Homeland Security.
The mission of the CSRC Center is to conduct focused research and training
to achieve a better preparedness for emerging cyber threats that could
potentially dwarf their effects on the other. All effort will be directed
towards developing the best techniques to prevent, detect, and solve cybercrimes.

- Software Assurance
- Formal Methods
Members include IEEE Fellows, AAAS Fellows and
Recipients of prestigious awards such as IEEE Computer Society's Technical
Achievement Award.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the CyberSecurity Research Center
is three-folds:
- Perform research in Digital Forensics and Network
Security and develop systems to:
- Enhance and strengthen the security of computer
systems and networks so that they can withstand and survive concerted,
sophisticated security attacks aimed at crippling them, and
- Prevent, detect, and solve cyber crimes.
- Foster interaction between Government, Industry
and Academic personnel involved in these activities to further the above
goals.
- Develop and teach courses for cyber-crime
prevention, detection and analysis.
